Military is Good for Rail: The transferable skills opportunity

Back by popular demand and following the huge success of its previous ‘Introduction to the Rail Industry’ for armed forces leavers, Rail Forum’s Military & Rail Event takes place today.

Delegates will descend on Derby’s Conference Centre on 11th September for the event, in partnership with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP). The day will provide an opportunity for companies to meet and network with a range of people who have recently left, or are planning their exit from, the UK’s armed forces and who are looking for new career opportunities.

There’ll be a range of companies in attendance from infrastructure managers and contractors, to rolling stock, digital solutions and consultancies to comprise a wide, diverse audience from the rail sector.

Attendees will also include all ranks and this year’s theme, ‘Military is Good for Rail’ couldn’t carry a truer message!

Why is military good for rail?

Every year, over 14,000 skilled and experienced individuals finish their service in the Armed Forces and look to transition into civilian careers. The armed forces offer a diverse array of trades and professional qualifications. Thanks to their extensive training and expertise, military personnel are recognised as one of the best-prepared workforces available.
