Ford & Stanley’s Clay Shoot targets top rail guests

Talent services specialist Ford & Stanley welcomed guests from across the rail industry and beyond on the 27th June, at a jointly hosted event at Nottinghamshire’s Orston Shooting Ground.

Forty-seven invitees basked in 20 degrees sunshine at the venue set within 53 beautiful acres, as eight teams showed off their best clay shooting skills to compete alongside hosts Ford & Stanley Talent Services Group and Enigma Seven.

The day’s events featured an hour of practice across the various traps, followed by a short break before getting down to business in a competitive, scored shoot with guidance from expert instructors. The participants got to benefit from using high spec, world class equipment and expert instructors at a venue that has been home to many national championships over the years.

The event also welcomed Andy Duncan, of Ford & Stanley Genius Performance. Traditionally providing performance support for top performers in the world of sport, Andy was on hand to help us all get in the right head space. His expertise came in handy in getting everyone “in the zone” by offering up some techniques to help keep them on target.

Congratulations went to Team Two’s Chris Gallimore, Nick Kay, Jon Levers, Pete Schofield and Joshua Kimberling who were the highest-scoring team and there was also praise for Nick Kay, who clinched first place for the ‘high gun’ shot.

Jonathon Levers from Ford & Stanley Talent Services Group said: “What a fantastic day – all topped off by perfect seasonal weather. A big thanks to all our guests for making it a lot of fun as well as a spectacular contest. Everyone had a brilliant time, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event.”

Shane Duffy, Director of Enigma Seven commented: “It was great to see so many faces and meet some new ones too. Meet-ups like these give everyone a unique opportunity to catch up with each other and get the latest on the industry but in a relaxed setting.”
