Ford & Stanley Group will be ‘putting’ its golfing skills to good use this month as it partners with leading global provider of technical services TÜV Rheinland on Friday 30th June, to jointly host a charity golf day. The event promises to be a fun-filled day of friendly competition, networking, fundraising, and hopefully, some summer sunshine!

This year’s event will take place at Morley Hayes, Ilkeston and will welcome over 40 guests to bring together clients and associates across the whole rail industry. The golf day will be raising awareness and funds for Children First Derby, a Derby-based charity that works with vulnerable children, young people, and families, to make a positive impact in their lives and the local community.

A swing coach will also be on hand at the event to work on individuals’ techniques, as well as Andy Duncan from Genius Coaching who will be offering sports performance coaching.

The day will tee off with breakfast baps and coffee, and following completion of the 18-hole tournament, guests will enjoy a buffet and further refreshments where prizes will be awarded to the winners of various competitions. A raffle will also be held to raise much-needed funds for Children First Derby.

Last year’s event with Loram UK and Aura Brand Solutions, held at Derbyshire’s Horsley Lodge, was a fantastic success and saw £600 raised for Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

Established in 1974 by local Derby resident, Milly Wigley, after reading about the death of a neglected child, Children First Derby’s founding aim is the relieve the distress and suffering experienced by children and families in the local area. The charity opened its Family Support Centre at 13 Leopold Street in Derby, in 1987, and is run by a dedicated team of staff and local volunteers.

All proceeds raised from the event will go towards supporting the three bespoke services the charity offers: a Family Support Service, a Mentoring Service, and a Supervised Contact Service for looked after children.
