Overview
SLC Rail are one of the leading railway and station developments specialists in the UK.
We are proud to have operated as a Strategic Recruitment Partner with SLC since 2017, over which time we have successfully completed 50 search assignments.
Scope & Approach
As SLC Rail’s sole supplier of Project and PMO professionals, we were tasked with expanding their operational team by 12 heads over a constrained time period, to work on several high-profile rail developments, whilst also increasing their geographical presence.
These projects include the Northumberland line upgrade, GCRE and the WMCA Station Development Programme of works.
We were careful to ensure we sourced a diverse set of individuals, both culturally, and professionally.
Solution
After a brief period of consultation with key hiring managers and stakeholders within SLC Rail, we ascertained the areas of technical experience and background that would add the most value to the business. Equally as important was understanding our clients’ key values, and what attributes and soft skills we were to look for in our candidates.
We then created a dual-branded Employee Value Proposition (EVP) document and advertising campaign, then centred our search for several key locations.
Outcome
Despite a highly competitive and skill-short market, we recruited all roles within the required time frame.
The team at Ford and Stanley have worked hard to better understand our business, the culture and our values which we believe differentiate us. This has allowed them to operate as a trusted partner, rather than transactional supplier.
