If there was ever any doubt about Derby’s standing in the UK rail industry, last week’s annual Dinner at The Roundhouse (DATR) put it firmly to rest. The event brought together more than 600 industry leaders and innovators, creating an atmosphere charged with optimism and ambition for Derby’s role in shaping the future of rail and driving digital transformation.
We were proud to be part of this incredible gathering once again – an evening filled with meaningful conversations, networking opportunities, and inspiring keynote addresses from some of the sector’s most influential voices at Derby Arena.
Before the main event, Ford & Stanley hosted an exclusive 90-minute drinks reception at The Yard at Pride Park, welcoming over 100 guests from across rail and related industries. It was a fantastic chance to connect, share insights, and catch up on the latest developments shaping the sector.
The celebrations continued at Derby Arena, where Ford & Stanley, as a bronze sponsor, hosted guests across three tables. This year’s dinner was hosted once again by none other than Pete Waterman OBE – a passionate rail enthusiast and music industry icon – alongside keynote speaker Andy Derbyshire, Group VP Operations at Wabtec Corporation. Andy’s global perspective and deep industry knowledge resonated strongly with an audience of manufacturers and suppliers navigating an era of rapid change.
The evening reinforced Derby’s unique position: a city with a proud railway heritage and cutting-edge engineering expertise, ready to lead the East Midlands into a new era of rail innovation.
